1. Restart your computer Sometimes problems can be fixed by simply restarting your computer and then starting Firefox again.

2. Clear your cookies and cache Many problems with loading web pages can be resolved by clearing Firefox's cookies and cache: 1.Click the Library button on your toolbar. (If you don't see it there, click the menu button then click Library.) Click Historyand select Clear Recent History…. 2.In the Time Range to clear: drop-down, select Everything. 3.Below the drop-down menu, select both Cookies and Cache. Make sure other items you want to keep are not selected. 4.Click Clear Now. For more information, see Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox.

3. Restart Firefox in Safe Mode Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that disables extensions, uses the default theme, turns off hardware acceleration and uses default toolbar settings, among other changes (see this article for details). To start Firefox in Safe Mode:

1.Click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled…. Firefox will start up with the Firefox Safe Mode dialog. Note: You can also start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the shiftkey while starting Firefox. 2.In the Firefox Safe Mode dialog, click Start in Safe Mode. 3.Check whether your problem is still happening while in Safe Mode.

If the problem still happens in Safe Mode, go on to step 4.

Hello Mary! To show your add-ons in the address (tool) bar, follow my steps below..

1. Click on the menu button (3 horizontal lines) on the the top right corner

2. Click Customize..(usually a paintbrush icon)

3. Then you can drag what Add-ons you want to appear on the toolbar

Done!

Tell me if I helped and Stay Safe!

Does this help?

Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars

Type about:customizing<enter> in the address bar.

Note: about:customizing is no longer present in Firefox 47+ releases.

Press Alt or F10 to bring up the toolbar. Then View > Toolbars > Customize. Right-click on a blank spot in the toolbar and select Customize. In the new window, look for the icon. When you find it, hold down the left button on it, and move it to where you want it to be. You can move any of the icons you want from here, but; some icons are locked in place.

There is also a Restore Defaults button at the bottom middle.

First, what are those add-ons? Do they have icons? Some don't.

Hi Mary, I don't know what all CCleaner and Glary remove, so it's difficult to understand how your Firefox ended up in this state.

What have you tried so far? For example:

(A) System Restart

If you haven't already, please exit out of Firefox and do a regular shutdown and restart of Windows to free any locked files and complete any pending updates.

(B) Disable and Re-enable each extension

Yes, turning it off and on again! One possible culprit would be an extension. You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. On the right side, find the "Manage Your Extensions" heading. Each extension should have a button that looks like a slider switch. Click to toggle back and forth between enabled and disabled.

Any improvement?

(C) Remove and Reinstall each extension

You might try this with just one of them and see whether it makes any difference. Any data stored by the extension (such as custom settings or accumulated data) is likely to get lost in this process, if it wasn't lost already.

it seems to do it when Firefox has anew version update. I tried all those things I finally got it by uninstalling and reinstalling firefox. is there a way i can configure firefox to manually let me know of new version instead of automatically updating. the other day i tried 5 times to finally get all my extensions to work. when id click on them nothing would come up just l for example last pass and any of my ad blockers just would not light up and work. I do have several add ons but that should have no bearing on it. I will try to refrain from running cc cleaner and glary

On the Options page, there's a tiny search bar near the top, type update in there to find the setting.

Hi Mary, someone else's add-on problems reminded me to suggest the storage test. After several seconds, this page should show good on all four tests. Does yours show any problems:
