Firefox Android first entered letter, number, symbol or string repeats after second entry.
I've seen this in the past but don't remember the cause and solution. Samsung had this issue once, and from what I've seen on the internet, the solution was to disable Android web preview, but that's not working. This problem just started on my Moto G4 Android, only in Firefox, only on certain websites where text is entered into forms. It isn't happening on this website. It isn't happening in Chrome or other apps. I've cleared temporary data, restarted the phone, disabled options in settings, but none of that worked Example: if i begin to enter, let's use "Walking is good," the result is "Walking is goodW." If I am swiping to enter, the result is "is goodWalking." The error causes the affected text to reappear in front of the cursor. Highly inefficient and a real time killer!

Hi
I should be able to help you with this.
- Open the Android Settings app (typically a cogwheel icon)
- Open the Applications menu and find Firefox
- Clear the cached storage (not data)
- Do this for other apps on you device
- Restart your Android device
This should help, as will making sure that all the apps on your Android device are up to date.
That did not work.

It did not help when I cleared Firefox cache and then immediately restarted the phone.

Well, I thought that solved the problem but it did not. I believe the problem stopped once but resumed the next time I ran Firefox.
I also noticed that it I begin the first entry, where the first character or swiped word would go, with a single space, the problem does not occur. I just have the space on the front of the text I entered.
The problem is not resolved.
This did not solve the problem.
No, it did not solve the problem.
No, it did not work after all, I only thought it worked but was mistaken.
Hi
Thank you for coming back to us about this issue. I have a few questions that will help us find a solution for you:
- Is the keyboard application on your device up to date (are there any updates for it at the Google Play Store)?
- Do you have any add-ons installed in Firefox for Android?
- Looking at the storage settings of your Android device, how much free space is there?
- Are you seeing any problems ofany kind in other apps on your Android device?
This will help us to find a solution for you.
1. Is the keyboard application on your device up to date (are there any updates for it at the Google Play Store)?
---All apps are up to date. No updates are available.
2. Do you have any add-ons installed in Firefox for Android?
---Default 1.0 theme with the operating system color scheme. ---OpenH264 Video Coded by Cisco Systems installed by Mozilla for compliance.
3. Looking at the storage settings of your Android device, how much free space is there?
---118 GB unused in storage (plus 59 GB used)
4. Are you seeing any problems ofany kind in other apps on your Android device?
---Absolutely no other problems. Strictly limited to web forms in Firefox for Android. Affected websites are not affected in Chrome either, as mentioned.
Hi
From speaking to our developers, do you have an example of a site where this is happening?
Thank you.
I have had a look and I can see exactly what you mean - I agree that this is really really irritatating.
But I have, on the same copy of Firefox for Android, have tried bbc.co.uk and do not see that issue there. I have also not seen it on several other websites.
I therefore think this is a website issue and not an issue caused by Firefox for Android.
I thought I saw the error occurring on another website, but I have notified the SpanishDict support team and will see if they take action. If I do remember which other website I had the same trouble with, I'll let you know. This happened similarly in the past for Samsung Galaxy phones, btw. If this issue is addressed by the SpanishDict team, I'll update my response here. Thanks for looking into this.
Thank you for letting us know. Hopefully this can be fixed for you very soon.
Hello, The website we discussed replied today. Please take a look at their response. Thanks!
Hi,
I apologize that it took our team so long to investigate this issue! We’ve been able to reproduce this issue, but our engineers have concluded that it is a bug in Android Firefox, and not something we can fix on our site. The only recommendation we can offer at this time is that you try switching browsers. Perhaps when the next Firefox update is released, the problem will be resolved.
If you're interested in reading more about this, we found relevant bug reports from Mozilla here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1123735 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1496984

I'm having a problem replying to an email on Yahoo mail:
"We nothingworthreportingthisyear, had even didndothenormalletter'tIso " That's what the screen says I typed, whereas I actually typed:
"We had nothing worth reporting this year, I didn't even do the normal letter so"
At that point I noticed the issue and quit!
As with an earlier reply, I am not typing individual letters, I am using the Samsung thing where you slide your finger from one letter to the next to make the word, and it guesses, usually pretty well, what the word was supposed to be. It has always worked well in Chrome, but I'm trying out Firefox for the first time on my Galaxy Tab A. I hope this helps you debug!
I saw a reply today which has nothing to do with the problem I reported.
Hi
Have you tried the new Firefox Preview browser (available from the Google Play Store)?
This has been rebuilt from the ground up on new technology - you may find that this issue does not occur.
