Have you tried Safe mode or things like that? You can get more information on the following page: Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly).
Sorry if you have done all that already but sometimes it is worth a try.

Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 Submitted crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

Some of your crash reports weren’t sent to the Mozilla Servers.

Yep, already tried that. But still good advice. Thanks.

Actually there are no Firefox crash reports created for this issue.
Instead it appears .Net Framework 4.8 which was recently updated is causing the problem (i.e. removed it, and the crashing problem went away).
And apparently the Framework does not want to play nice with Adobe Flash.
Still researching the issue. Appreciate your tips as they helped to narrow down my problem.
Thanks.
