Hi, I tried to help a client download her emails so that when I changed servers she would not lose her emails. She set up the emails on the old server fine and they all seemed to download. However, when she put in the new server details they all vanished. Now - I haven't used this app before as I have a mac and use Mail, but this surprised me as I assumed that they had been downloaded and therefore wouldn't vanish when she put the new details in.

Can you tell me if there's a way to recover these emails?

Thank you, Sol

If this was a IMAP email account the messages are on the providers server not downloaded. Once you change the account details in Thunderbird to point to the new server it does not see the old one. If you still have access to the old server rebuild the account in Thunderbird. When you connect to the old server move the messages to a folder under the Local Folders account n Thunderbird.
