Thunderbird is not storing my ATT Incoming EMail password
I recently signed up to ATT, and I have the account installed into Thunderbird, but T'bird will not store my PW, I have to manually type it in every time I attempt to retrieve any att.net email. Gmail and Comcast EMail work as adverstised, just the ATT.NET is misbehaving.

Thanks for the attempt guys, but it seems we all missed the most obvious solution. I simply deleted the EMail account and readded it. The process was painless and in the readding, it stored my password.

I would go into the options screen and see what is stored there for that account.
From the Menu Bar select Tools-Options-Security-Passwords-Saved Passwords. Click the Show Password button to see what is saved. Each password should be thee twice. Once for Inbound and once for Outbound.
You might want to delete anything that is there for that account and let it ask for the password and start fresh. Remove the passwords for that account and restart Thunderbird. It should ask you for a password the next time it needs one.
Outbound is there, no Inbound is there.
When it asks you for the password and you fill in the field are you checking the box to have Thunderbird remember the password?
I am not because there is no box to check.
My initial description may be misleading, I have to type in the PW when I enter T'Bird, but it temporarily stores it, and will retrieve any EMail with prompting me to enter my PW, until I close and reopen T'Bird.

There is a section in this article that talks about no box to remember password. Maybe that will help.

That was interesting, but after locating the user_pref("signon.rememberSignons", I found it to already be set to true, not false as the article suggested. I could not find it poking around in the prefs.js file, but as the article suggested I found it using about:config, where it was already set to true.... blah.... Thought we had it there.
Any other ideas on this problem? I am stumped.
