Would help to have a way to tell if addons will be compatible BEFORE I install an update. Lightning is the major concern for us.
Thunderbird asks to update to 24.5.0 but I need to know for sure that Lightning has a compatible version before I do the update. Can't afford to lose that calendar. When I go look at the mozilla site for lightning it shows the current version, the one I'm using, is compatible with 24.4.0, my current Thunderbird. But the lightning site says the lightning version compatible with 24.* has not yet been released. So, does this mean if I update Thunderbird to 24.5.0 then the current version of lightning will not work properly, if at all?
I would like to see an option on the Thunderbird update dialog that would show me each of my addons, which will be compatible with the new Thunderbird version and which will not, then allow me to select to update or to wait.
Thanks.

Lightning will continue to work with TB 24.5.0.

Look for 'Version Information' at the bottom of the page.
A matching Lightning version will be released with every major Thunderbird update. That will be TB 31 sometime later this year.

Thanks. I'll go ahead and do the update. Appreciate the prompt reply.
The Thunderbird 24.X.x updates (like 24.4.0, 24.5.0) are for security and allowed stability bug fixes. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/24.5.0/releasenotes/

The versions of lightning with b1 are for the Beta builds of Thunderbird which are built more for QA purposes as there are no such Release versions.
