OI have lost my bookmark stay ( shortcut icon) in the upper right hand corner by the download arrow and I do not know how to get it back

Also when in my email and I want to open an attachment it goes right to down loads and does not open when I double click on it. It worked yesterday!

Very frustrated

Hi Joyce, did Firefox do a Reset during your update? After a Reset, your toolbars are restored to factory default and many of your add-ons may be missing. There is a new folder on your desktop named Old Firefox Data. Do you see anything like that?

Regarding the bookmarks menu button, see your related thread: I need tech support not read stupid thisngs for hours to answer my question

Regarding the downloads, what email site has the problem? Also, check your download setting to see whether it has changed to automatically use a particular folder instead of letting you choose a folder.

You've already started a thread about the first issue. As I said,

The Bookmarks button on the navigation toolbar? Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and choose Customize. Drag it from the customization palette onto the toolbar. You can also click the Restore Default Set button to discard your toolbar customizations.

If you want to be prompted where to save files,

  1. Under Options - General, select "Always ask me where to save files"
  2. Under Options - Applications, set the file type in question to "Always ask"

Double-clicking isn't used anywhere in the Firefox interface. If you want to open a recently downloaded file, click the Download button on the navigation toolbar, then the file in question. Does that not work?

Note that you only get the Bookmarks Menu button when the Menu bar is hidden (View > Toolbars).

You can try rename (or delete) the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all file actions.

I can't believe some of the responses to a simple question. Viewing the bookmark toolbar DOES NOT get the star back.

Here's how I did it. This is another Firefox genius move.

View > Toolbars > Customize

Now, one thing I noticed ( at least in my version ) there was THREE ( 3 ) bookmark starred icons. Get it, THREE!! They ALL LOOK THE SAME.

I just dragged each one to my icon bar and finally ONE of them appeared as the good ole starred bookmark.

REMEMBER.......... THERE ARE THREE that look identical. GENIUS!!!
