How do I modify the organization of my bookmarks? I want to move bookmarks to another folder.
I want to change the organization of my bookmarks. i.e. move a bookmark from one bookmark folder to another. Previously I was able to edit the bookmark file. Need this ability. Thank you.

Sorry you are having problems. Maybe you are new to using Firefox.
If you have been editing bookmarks files maybe you are thinking of Internet Explorer favourites. Or have been using bookmarks in an external HTML file.
Firefox keeps bookmarks in a database file along with History & Downloads information, plus tags that you add.
The bookmarks may be moved by dragging and dropping in the Library. You may choose the bookmark location; when setting, or moving; when using the bookmarks star at the end of the location bar.
