How can I make my boomarks drop down menu less wide, from left to right. There is too much white space on the right half.
Before yesterday, my boomarks drop down menu was appx. 6" wide. Now, for no apparent reason, it's appx. 12" wide. There is appx. 6" of white space in the right half of the drop down menu, which makes it time consuming to access the information inside my individual bookmark folders.

Hello Denise,
Thanks for contacting Mozilla Support! That does sound frustrating and I hope this helps the issue.
You should get a resize mouse cursor when you hover over the line that separates the Bookmarks window and the Browser. Just click and drag to the desired size you would like.
Please let us know if this corrects your problem.
Cheers, Patrick

can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...

This is usually caused by one or more bookmarks having a long title.
You can check that folder in the Library and shorten long names.
- Bookmarks > Show Al Bookmarks
- Bug 626066 - History, Bookmarks menus too wide because of pages with long titles on 64bits

I do NOT get a resize mouse cursor when you hover over the line that separates the Bookmarks window and the Browser. I tried that before contacting Mozilla support.
Can you please tell me how to "launch firefox in safe mode" ??
NONE of my bookmark titles are more than 6" long. So there is still appx. 6" of white space on the right side of the drop down menu.
hey denise, the article i've linked to in my prior reply explains how to start firefox in safe mode.
and just to be sure we're understanding your issue correctly (there's a difference between the bookmarks menu, the bookmarks sidebar and so on) - could you also add a screenshot that shows the issue?
