Are you using Firefox in safemode?

this is whats visible in safari, but invisible in firefox, I even dragged the plugin into the extension folder but still no recognition, it has to be something with firefox, I have trashed silverlight and re-installed 10x. I'm out of ideas. what is firefox safemode? and where do I find it?

You can't install plugins by dragging them into the extensions folder.

If you had used Firefox to post here instead of Safari we would be able to see which plugins you have installed for Firefox in the More system details link to the right of your initial posting here.

One idea: do you use Flashblock? Have you got it set to "Block Silverlight as well"? If so, you will not see anything from Silverlight at all.

That is a Safari user-agent. Ed meant that he wanted to see a Firefox list of plugins.

Silverlight is not included in that list. You need to have it installed.

Well, I know that, I have silverlight installed on my hard drive, but firefox doesn't recognize it and says its corrupted but silverlight plays fine in safari , the question is, why is firefox not excepting silverlight?

Does anyone understand what the problem is and knows how to fix it? I've taken silverlight off my hard drive again and re downloaded to hard drive from firefox and firefox still doesn't allow silverlight plug-in to be installed. I thought maybe the problem was in java scripts, but I don't know what I'm looking for, a little above my expertise. can someone explain?

I'm having this same problem. I have downloaded and installed the latest version of Silverlight from Microsoft's site but Firefox still won't recognize it on my computer. My other two browsers are working just fine.

Thoughts?

OK, I'm going to try completely dumping also . . . thanks for posting. I've been having this really frustrating issue for a long time now. But honestly I just stopped using Firefox and switched over to Chrome since it showed Netflix movies fine and I'm watching a lot more Netflix than regular TV now. No matter how many times I hit install Silverlight, FF would still give me that message in Nf: You're almost ready to watch (Film title), Install the Microsoft Silverlight plug-in now — it only takes a minute (yeah, right)...

Win7 x64 FF20 .. when upgrading Silverlight plugin 1ST uninstall 4 BEFORE installing 5. (as noted in the fine print and the only app upgrade I've experienced this decade requiring this)

Me too! Can't get it to work no matter what I do. The SilverLight plugin does not show up in FF but works on everything else. Followed all of the steps, removed previous versions and deinstalled and reinstalled many times.
