Modern fonts displayed too thin and too light in Firefox
I am using Firefox version 16.0.2 and several fonts on many websites now (like on this website) are displayed so thin I can hardly read what's on it. I have to select the text to read it.
While in Internet Explorer, the same page is displayed clear.
Why is Firefox having problems to show the fonts correct? I don't want to set a font that overrides used fonts in websites, because I want to see the actual design. And I don't want to switch browsers.
Please help and see these attachments for example:

Page in Internet Explorer 9: http://s12.postimage.org/trcmn2bil/IE1.jpg
And here another one:

hello, have you switched on hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > general? please also update to firefox 17.0.1...
Hello Madperson, I now have updated my browser to the latest version 17.0.1 and the Hardware Acceleration option is switched on. But there is no change in the fonts. They are still appearing thin like my examples above.
ok, then please also go into the windows control panel & reconfigure cleartype settings: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/make-text-easier-to-read-using-cleartype
