updated to 16.0.2 but now everything hangs, even facebook all I get is the icon spinning until I close it down. WHY

updated to 16.0.2, now when I try to go to facebook the icon spins for ages, then I am unable to click on anything it is like there is nothing on the page. it is so bad I can not even click on the icon in the toolbar to minimise it have to close it down - totally not responding to anything and it is the same on my laptop. how do I remove 16.0.2 and go back to earlier version as this is obviously buggy

Firefox 16 has some problem. you can solve the problem by reseting your firefox http://support.mozilla.org/kb/reset-preferences-fix-problems

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
