This would be a very useful tool for me as well.

However, this add-on is created by a 3rd person party, not Mozilla itself.

No offense to the creator, but is this trustworthy? Such a tool would give someone access to all my usernames and passwords.

You can backup the data in your current Firefox Profile Folder.

For the passwords you need the key3.db file (encryption key) and signons.sqlite file.
