I have many computers, most use Firefox. I have just tried to open Firefox on a laptop (not this one) but it did not open. Instead I got: Error Message Platform Version 1.9.2.10 is not compatible with

           minVersion >= 1.9.2.11
           maxVersion<= 1.9.2.11

I have never seen this and cannot imagine from where it came. The computer is a FujitsuSiemens Amilo with WinProXP2000SP2 and 504MB Ram installed. This stopped Firefox from opening. Enlightenment, please.

This error can happen if the updater wasn't able to update all the files and some old files from the previous Firefox 3.6.10 version are still present in the Firefox program folder. This can happen if security or anti-virus software is protecting or using those files. The solution is to download the full new version (3.6.11) and delete the program folder before installing the new version.

Do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.

It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

I had this problem too, but after downloading the new version of Firefox, I was able to update the application without having to uninstall.
