Mozilla thunderbird for earthlink passwords troubles!
Hello, earthlink asked me to change my password today and now...I keep getting this message: Mozilla thunderbird for earthlink…Sending of password for user [email protected] did not succeed. Mail server pop.earthlink.net
I did change the password in password manager and it's correct (I can login to my earth account on-line fine)! I've check incoming and outgoing servers...it's all good I didn't change a thing and was working until I changed my account password for earthlink. Also, rebooted the PC still a no go... ;-) Please help...
Best regards,
Robert Ivie

OK..I found the problem...my new password was too long, 13 character...the max is 12! Added new (shorter password) and all is back! Thanks for the help!

See Images please...
Delete those entries and provide the new password when prompted.
Deleting the entries and providing new passwords did not solve the problem...
Still get the message below!
Just looking at this issue. You have a different number of mailboxes and smtp setups. I suggest carefully reviewing them to see if TB is getting confused. Is each email address set up with its own account definition of incoming server and smtp server? I've seen it is easy to get them slightly off. This may not be the issue, but I do suggest reviewing that. Maybe I'm misreading it, but I don't get the impression there are multiple accounts. Just a thought to consider...
Well..tried a new email account on outlook and same thing!
I have only one earthlink account
Okay, but your first screenshot showed what appears to be four accounts (identities).
