When I first go to the URL bar to either search or enter a URL I see a drop down of sites. These are not the search engines. See the image attached. How do I remove these?

Hi, when you first click in the bar, before you type anything for Firefox to match, the drop-down shows shortcuts from the Firefox Home / new tab page.

You have several options, including:

(1) Curate your shortcuts to be as useful as possible

This article has the steps for removing unwanted shortcuts and adding/pinning new ones where they will be helpful: Customize items on your Firefox New Tab page.

(2) Don't show those shortcuts in the address bar drop-down

There is a checkbox for that on the Preferences/Settings page. More info: Address bar autocomplete suggestions in Firefox ("How can I control what results the address bar shows me?" section)

Do either those help with your address bar drop-down?
