Successfully downloaded Thunderbird on new computer. Verified outbound.att.net and inbound.att.net settings are same as first computer with Thunderbird. Ports are ok. SSL/TLS ok. Normal password for authentication ok. I cannot retrieve mail or contacts. I keep getting password error. What password am I supposed to use? ATT email password, Password listed for Thunderbird for 1st, or master password. I attempted all and am not getting both PCs in sync with ATT. I do not know how to start all over.

Uninstalled and reinstalled TB. Entered new ATT secure email key when prompted for password. Did not work. Program never asked for secure email key, just asked for password. I have old secure email key on first PC that did not work on new pc. Maybe problem is when I went to "saved passwords" to delete password as instructed I deleted everything because I did not see how to delete just the password. The account doe not show up at all. in the password screen.

TB will not specifically ask for a secure mail key, but you must use it when asked for a password. What is the antivirus? Some of them 'manage' passwords that interferes with TB Saved Passwords.

Thank you so much, but I am still not whole. Option/ Security/Password "Saved Passwords" has no listings- blank.

I selected use Master Password and typed in the same password that I have previously used with ATT. Not sure this makes a difference.

Attempted to send myself an email and it ask for a password. Master did not work. ATT secure mail key from my 1st PC did.

All of my mails started loading into my inbox

I successfully sent myself an email, but only after being asked and typing the extremely long ATT secure mail key.

How can I configure so I do not have to type any passwords?

Again, Thanks. You got me 99% of the way.

Master passwords have no relation to mail accounts or mail providers; they are strictly for protecting access to the Saved Passwords in TB.

When you're asked to enter an account password, there should be a box to check to have it stored in Saved Passwords.
