When I do a search using the address bar, clicking a search engine won't take me to the result directly. Instead a blue box (e.g. @Google) pops up in the address bar, and I have to click one more time to do the search. But the Firefox installed in my office needs one click only (i.e. no blue box pop-up). Is there a way to prevent the blue box from appearing?

(Both versions of Firefox are up to date, 83.0 64bit)

For those who also want to execute a search in one click, please check out this post in reddit. u/jscher2000 provided an excellent answer!

(Go to about:config and switch browser.urlbar.update2.oneOffsRefresh from true to false)

You can hold Shift when you click/press Enter on a one-off button to execute a search immediately.

That's one way to do it, but can you skip the shift-holding part and execute the search with one mouse click? You can go to the imgur link below to see the difference. https://imgur.com/a/nNw1YCH
