Hi

I changed my gmail password with 2 step Verification, but TB keeps refusing the new password.

I click on anything that would initiate a change and immediately get a request for the password.

I immediately get an error message requesting I re-submit it, but it just keeps giving me the same error message.

I went into my google account and switched off Gmail giving access to TB, so that when I go back into TB it goes into the routine to reconnect with GMail, requiring me to log into my Google account an "Allow Thunderbird to have access." after which Google says TB again has access to gmail.

But when I go back in to TB it's still giving me the above error messages. I've tried closing and reopening TB but made no difference. Not sure what to try next.

Thanks Kirk

lets see. EMail client do not do well with two factor authentication. To put it bluntly it simply does not work.

Your choices with gmail are; App password. Use oAuth2.0 authentication. Google's preferred method.
