Hello! I have IMAP account on my institution server. I have Junk mail controls enabled, and the rule is to move Junk messages to Junk folder on IMAP server. Also I have number of message filters, which do sorting mail into IMAP folders. These filters have an option be run before of after junk classification.

Problem 1: If I run message filters before junk classification, sorting filter work fine, junk messages get moved to junk folder, however, I get notification that new message arrived, even if that was spam. That is annoying.

Problem 2: If I run message filters after junk classification, messages get marked as junk, but do not move to Junk folder.

Please suggest what else should I check. Thanks

Disable email scanning of the Thunderbird folder is a good starting point. IF the anti virus installed add-ons into Thunderbird for spam and scams remove them.

Hello! Thanks for suggestion. I have only gContactSync, Lightning, and Provider for Google Calendar as extensions, nothing like antivirus addon.

I said nothing about anti virus addons.
