Hi

I've been buying blocks of data from BlockNews for a number of years and it has lasted for many months. Lately, though, my data allowance has been used up very quickly yet I've not been using Usenet very much more than previously. Is there any way I can tell how much Thunderbird is using up by the various actions I adopt?

D.

https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/mail-summaries/ gives you account sizes for non-news accounts. But of course that doesn't help you.

So you are stuck with a manual method of examining file sizes 1. help > troubleshooting > about:profiles 2. show in finder 3. under the News folder you can find the file sizes of each newsgroup

Add them up once a day or once a week, and subtract the previous week's total, to determine how much news you have been downloading.
