...after a while of being installed.

Hi, so my issue above is that initially it works fine, but after a few days, it stops loading web pages. There's no error, it just continuously tries to load a web page.

Now, I've done a re-install, and that didn't work, so I uninstalled it, went to the appdata folder and deleted anything Mozilla related, and reinstalled FireFox, that seemed to work...but only for a few days. It happened again.

Opera and Edge work just fine.

Solutions I've tried: Disabling anti-virus - didn't work Uninstalling anti-virus - didn't work Ran a malware scan - no threats found Checked Proxy Settings - it's set to "no proxy" Cleared any browsing data or history - didn't work Disabled extensions - didn't work Ran CCleaner - Didn't work.

Any other suggestions? I'm pretty sure uninstalling and reinstalling will work again, but for how long? I want to know why this is happening. Any one else experiencing this? I'm running Win10 Spring Creator's.

P.S. I also use FireFox at work and this hasn't happened....yet.

This is going to sound dumb, but have you tried resetting the Internet Explorer options? In my experience, I've found that resetting Internet Explorer to the factory default usually fixes connection issues, even if you have never used Internet Explorer.

To reset Internet Explorer, do the following:

  1. Open Internet Options from your Control Panel
  2. Click the Advanced tab
  3. Press the Reset button in the Reset Internet Explorer settings section
  4. Restart your computer

I don't know why this fixes issues with Firefox internet connectivity, but it does in a lot of cases.

Huh, interesting.

No I haven't tried that, but I'll give it a go once I get home. Thanks for the suggestion.

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}

I've already mentioned that I disabled and even uninstalled my AV/Internet Security, and that still did not work. Also, FireFox is in my list of allowed apps under windows firewall

No go for me, I don't even have the "reset" button. But I did click on "restore advanced settings" and no dice.

Windows has its own firewall and anti-virus. Check them also.

Let me re-iterate what I have done, to be clear.

- Disabled Avast, did not work. - Uninstalled Avast, did not work. -Checked windows firewall, FireFox was already added as a allowed app. - Added an exception to Windows Defender, did not work - Added FireFox as an allowed app to windows defender, did not work - Reset windows internet options, did not work - Cleared history and cache, did not work - Disabled extensions, did not work

-Checked proxy settings and settings were at no proxy

I just bit the bullet and uninstalled and reinstalled FireFox. Currently running 60.0.2. Everything works again, but if it happens a third time, I'm going to go crazy.
