Thunderbird is the latest version of 52.6.0. I have reinstalled the software several times. It is opening fine but none of the text in any of the menus, dialogues or the main panel is displaying correctly.

The emails can be read but I can not really use the program.

I will enclose an image to show what I mean.

Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

Solved my own issue it was an issue with Mate (desktop manager I am using) and its base font size was set to 0 now at 10 it's fine.
