In order to utilize online banking at Banco Itau (and many other banks) in Brazil, they require installation of a security applet called Guardião. It is downloadable from their website after entering one's branch and account numbers. The security applet runs in the background while the user is logged into online banking. A user can tell if the applet/plug-in/add-on has been successfully installed because during the first phase of log-in, a small icon appears indicating that the applet has been properly installed and loaded in the browser (instalado) or that it's not installed (não instalado).

I believe the Guardiao app, which downloads as an installer called warsaw_setup.pkg, may be a Java or perhaps an Adobe Flash app. I'm really not sure. I used to be able to install and run this applet via Firefox but notice that in your FAQ, that the newest versions of Firefox no longer support these types of applets/plug-ins. Is there some way to program Firefox to make an exception for particular websites? I tried to do this via the Java preference window but had no luck. Perhaps you can provide some insight?

Thank you kindly.

hi, this probably isn't any direct help but in the last couple of days we have seen a huge increase in firefox crashes on windows caused by this external software. maybe they have just released an update that went deeply wrong?
