Why do my phone number types change in Thunderbird?

I've been going through my contact list and checking the info for each entry and I'll find a persons phone numbers, which I set as 1 and 2, labeled as Home and Mobile. I save the entry and then later on I'll find it as, let's say Home Fax and Home.

Why do these keep changing? Are they supposed to be the same for all and once I change one it messes up the others? I should say that I also sync the calendar with Google Calendars so that I can share the appointments and contacts with family.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

Are you also syncing your Thunderbird Contacts/Address Book with a mobile phone?

I use a program to sync my Thunderbird Address Book with the contacts on my Android phone, and sometimes corruptions like this happen, especially since my phone is syncing/backing up my contacts with my Google account.

This might happen if you use an add-on in Thunderbird to synch your Address Book with Google Contacts, like: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/google-contacts/
