After the latest upgrade of Thunderbird software which occurred automatically on 4th March, I can't open folders - the list of folders appears at left of screen, but won't open to show any emails, and the window on the right entitled Thunderbird Mail - Inbox has a list of Email; Accounts and Advanced Features. When I hover over Email, the text highlights, but won't open anything. I've turned computer off and on, and uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird. I've checked account settings and the IMAP address is set at what it's been working on OK before. I've tried to use top right menu and 'New message - 'Existing Mail Account' to try to get it to link up with doctors.net but it can't find that provider. But I still am getting an alert that new email messages have come in. I'm using Chrome as my default browser. thanks

There currently seem to be some issues with Lightning.

If you re-start Thunderbird in safe mode (hold down shift whilst starting it) does it work better? Safe mode will disable Lightning and all other add-ons.

As of today it seems to be working fine. Thanks to whoever fixed it. David

I spoke too soon.

Thunderbird became unopenable so I uninstalled and reinstalled it. Now can open Inbox folder, but only by doing so in new tab, and can't reply.

It seems to have been OK while I looked at 2 or 3 emails and then went wrong.

perhaps I should just switch to Livemail that seems to work for other people OK.
