Firefox is set open with a blank page and yet I keep getting the "Welcome to Firefox" page, how can I change this?
Firefox updated to version 5 and upon starting I was greeted with a "Welcome to Firefox" page, I expected that and checked my settings to ensure that it would start with a blank page next time. However, even though it states "Show a blank page" when Firefox starts, it's still showing me the "Welcome to Firefox" page every time it starts, can anyone please help me with this?

Many thanks cor-el, I tried and still am greeted with the welcome page. I clicked "reset to defaults" and selected "show my home page" and even the "use a bookmark" but all to no avail. I am still shown the "Welcome to Firefox" page whenever I start up.

I deleted the prefs file and all seems to be working OK now, many thanks for your help cor-el as I now start up with a blank page again.
You're welcome

I have rechecked my homepage and done everything above except I do not have a file called prefs.js. I have a file called prefs and another prefs.js.lpbak
Windows is probably hiding the .js file extension, so you only see a file prefs. You can check the Properties via the right-click context menu to see the file type.
