Corrupted email folder?
A local folder with old emails has recently got corrupted. In the Profile folder the emails appear normally but within the TB program the emails all show the same content and a date of 1 Jan 1965. By doing a full Norton scan I discovered a couple of Trojans and another bug which have now been removed but the email problem is still there.
Should I do 'repair folder'?

PS: If I open the emails from the profile folder with Notepad - the original email content shows. But if I open them from the profile folder using TB, the same content appears in all emails - and the 1965 date.
I suggest the first hing to do in all circumstances when the display is suspect is repair the folder. By doing a full Norton scan, Norton has probably irrevocably corrupted at least part of, not the entire, folder the supposed threats existed in.
Note that a repair simply rebuilds he index of the mail in the storage folder for POP mail and verifies each mail with the server for IMAP. it does not remove any mail. But Norton has a long history of quarantining whole folders to get at threats that are no more a threat that a common cold virus on your toilet seat.
Thank you.
I did the 'repair folder' but the folder is still showing emails with the wrong content, even though they open correctly with Notebook from the Profile folder.
I have a backup copy of the folder on an external hard drive. Should I try deleting the folder from Profile and copying and pasting the backup copy (it's a 'local folder' named 'Out.mozmsgs')?
