Thunderbird 91.2.0 crashes at start up
This morning my web browser loaded a page saying Thunderbird had been updated to the latest version, 91.2.0. When I tried to start Thunderbird it crashed. Thunderbird has been crashing all day, every time I try to load it. I have attempted to fix the problem by restarting my computer, uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird, downloading an older version of Thunderbird (91.1.2), and holding down the shift key and attempting to start in troubleshoot mode, and disable all add-ons. Nothing I have tried has worked. The best I can do is get Thunderbird to load up for a second before it crashes. I have sent in dozens of crash reports detailing the problem.
This is the data from the latest crash report:

Perhaps provide the crash signature for your submitted crashes.

Hello. Thank you for sending the link. The sample crash report on the link you sent has a box to "Allow Mozilla to contact me about this report." The crash boxes I receive do have that check box option. The only box I can check is "Tell Mozilla about this crash so they can fix it." I did add notes to the last several crashes I sent in.
How do I submit a crash signature?
Thank you.
I manually went to the crash folder and found the submitted crash reports. The folder has 27 crash reports.

looks like this bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1732549
Fix approved for the next point release on V91, so the next update.
Or you could go back to 78.14, which I did.

Please do not post a support request about future data loss caused by your actions and plaase do not encourage others to follow you unless you will be offering support to them fixing any issues your advice creates. The non technically skilled who are usually the ones asking how to go back, they are also the ones most likely to have issues with the process. Reverting all the changes in the profile requires usually an up to date backup of the profile or extensive exporting and importing of data. A very time consuming process. Not for most folks to even contemplate.
Rereading the specific bug (which is nothing like your issue) makes it clear to invoke the bug you have to set the view to unread and be using newsgroups. If you do not use newsgroups for a couple of weeks I do not assume it would be a huge issue as they are now a somewhat niche thing.
I am optimistic that 91.2.1 will help - coming hopefully this week.
Hi. I need one last bit of help. I've been using the beta version of Thunderbird as a work around. When the new version was released I uninstalled the beta and installed the new release version. When I tried to load the the program I got a message that I needed to create a new profile. I uninstalled the new version and tried to go back to the beta so I could check the settings and do smooth migration, but I got the same message saying I need to create a new profile. I then uninstalled the beta and went back to the release version, and tried to create a new profile but I'm stuck. I thought there would be some option to import my settings once I created a profile, but I haven't seen anything like that. I haven't had to even look at the settings in years. Every other upgrade has been seamless and problem free. But this update has been and continues to be a nightmare. I don't care about email or calendars. I only use Thunderbird for newsgroups. Is there a way I can access my old settings and move them to a new account or restore my existing account?
I did read through the help files and saw several articles that acknowledge these problems exist, but I didn't see any clear solutions. If there is a article with step by step instructions, please point me to it.
Thank you.
