Problem with TASKS List after 78.6.1 update
Hello,
Since upgrading to 78.6.1 yesterday, my TASKS list that displays alongside my Calendar is listing all my tasks going back to when they were first created. I have gone through all of them 3 times now, ticking all the boxes to clear them off the Task list but when I restart Thunderbird they are all showing in the Tasks list again. I've tried double-clicking on an entry and then 'Edit All Occurrences', made changes and then saved again, but they all just keep reappearing in the Tasks List as if they haven't been completed??

The bug link I posted in earlier comments has information regarding the bug. I added it so that anyone could read up what is going on. Version 78.8 is scheduled for Feb 23, so unless something causes a delay it should be made available very soon.

I've just upgrade to 78.8.0 and it seems the problem has been fixed.

Strangely 78.8.0 did not automatically install as upgrades usually do. I had to go into Help/About Thunderbird and ask it to upgrade, but after doing so I agree it appears to have fixed the problem.
Upgraded to 78.8.0 and problem seems solved now. Thank you.
I have also checked everything and it seems to be resolved. I have passed on your all your 'thanks' to those concerned in getting this done. They needed to locate issue in code, write new code, then allow time to perform fulls tests and then get it uploaded for the community. Your patience is appreciated.
I recently had Thunderbird 78.8.1 automatically installed, and I still have the above mentioned problem. How is is possible that it is back, after it was tested OK in version 78.8.0? And the tasks filtering does still not work as expected.
I didn't install 78.8.0 and went directly to 78.8.1. Looked good in the first hours after the installation. Some of the repeating tasks came back next morning, but not all.
Now - after a couple of days - all set! The task scheduled every second day took most time to get fixed. Don't know why, didn't do any changes. I hope a little patience will help you!?
A quick fix was for me: snooze all reminder for a short time (5 min). They came back normal after 5 minutes for a short time (1-2 hours)
I'm sorry... it just happend: One of my tasks (every 2nd day) is coming back again with reminders of the last years.... =;-((

Snooze all is still a temp workaround (but it doesn't make me happy!)
The update corrected the problem of repeat tasks re-appearing after being completed, but there is another problem.
I have several repeat tasks (such as fortnightly events). When I try to delete one of these tasks (e.g., the one that was on Christmas Day), it does not delete. My process is:
- Open the task (select Edit only this occurrence)
- Click on Delete
- Click OK to Do you really want to delete this Task?
- The dialog box disappears, but the task remains, and it continues to be listed on my Task List
If I open the task as before and change the Status to Cancelled, then Save and Close, that status is saved, but the task remains on my Task List.
Any suggestions?
