This is disgusting experience with thunder bird desktop mail client. All my important and business emails get deleted from the server. After lot of research i found that the option "Leave Messages in Server" is checked without any prior information to me. I found that the Option is checked, So I increased the "For at most : 14 days to some 5 digit number of days". Then I got a shock by seeing my main mail. All My incoming emails are deleted from server. It contains only in thunder bird. The data in server is deleted with out any prior notice at all. Please let me know the solution for this or else Please don't suggest people to use thunder bird as their email client.

What retention rules does your email provider apply? How can you be sure that it's your client and not the server administrator that is deleting these messages?

If you have a "leave messages on server" option then you must be using POP. I'd suggest that the combination of POP and "leave messages on server" is not a robust way to safeguard your email message store.

You will have a finite limit on the space available to you on the server. How will you know when you have reached its capacity? Very often the first sign is people sending to you having their messages returned to them as your Inbox is full.
