After a system crash tonight (Ubuntu), I restarted the laptop and fired up Thunderbird. Now, when I try to send any email, even just a one word test message, I'm suddenly met with this error:

"The size of the message you are trying to send exceeds a temporary size limit of the server. The message was not sent; try to reduce the message size or wait some time and try again. The server responded: 4.3.1 Insufficient system resources."

I use Thunderbird in conjunction with my company's email server. This message would appear to be coming from our Outlook server, however I get it only when sending a message from Thunderbird. If I use Outlook Web or a VMWare session, I can send mail just fine.

Anyone? This is weird.

two possible issues.

1. The server genuinely has issues.

2. Your SMTP settings are incorrect. Size errors are often reported if the password required by the server is not provided for example.
