I called support 855-346-5768. They're requiring $ to release my computer back to me...
I attempted to get support on the Mozilla site. As I got on the site I got an article that said there were lots of problems with the latest version of Firefox and that I should call Mozilla at 855-346-5768. I did and these folks that call themselves Computer Tech Support, Certified System Engineers have taken control of my computer and have stated that there are repairs needed to my system and the cost is $99. I have declined to give them any money but they will not release my computer back to me. Jeff Vanskike

hello Jeff, mozilla doesn't provide any phone support - our official support site is at support.mozilla.org and provides a knowledge-base and this support forum. here we will never charge you for any support request or recommend other paid services.
the line you have mentioned isn't related to mozilla in any way, so unfortunately we won't be able to help you with any dispute you might have with them. if you feel that they are mischarging or failing to release your computer, you might inform your local trading standards authorities. in addition, if this firm falsely uses the trademarked term "Mozilla" to provide or advertise their service, you could report them at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/legal/fraud-report/ so that further action against them can be taken.
sorry for all the troubles!

You have fallen victim to a scam. whatever article you read was false and inaccurate, and there is no phone number you can use to contact Mozilla, this is our only forum of support.
Please immediately use the tools at Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware to begin scanning for malware installed on your machine by this "company", and if you still have trouble please contact a REPUTABLE local computer company for assistance.
What is the web address of that site? It may be a phony. Get Firefox and
other major programs only from trusted or home page sites. For Firefox;
Mozilla.org.
=============================================
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
