Why does the Firefox feature "Keep (cookies) until I close Firefox" not work?
I've set Firefox to remove cookies when I close the program. But when I close Firefox and run CCleaner, CCleaner reports removing many Firefox cookies. So Why does the Firefox feature "Keep (cookies) until I close Firefox" not work?

Hello,
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
- Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
- Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
- Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
- Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Thank you.
If you have installed an extension like Beef Taco or Do Not Track Plus that maintains a set of OPT-OUT cookies then you can't remove some cookies permanently.
In that case you need to uninstall the extension to remove those opt-out cookies.

- Beef Taco (Targeted Advertising Cookie Opt-Out): https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/beef-taco-targeted-advertising/
