on two computers with ubuntu 12.04 & firefox 15, firefox sync does not work
I have three computers that all use ubuntu 12.05 and firefox 15.0 I cant nake firefox sync work, although in eralier days it was flawless. I cant figure out whether the syncing up or syncing down is the problem. Is there any way of knowing what is in the contents of the sync cloud?
I have tried all the remedies posted on the firefox sync site

Same problem with Firefox 15.0 on two Windows 7 Ultimate, two Windows XP Professional (one real, one virtual), one Windows 8 Consumer Preview (virtual), and one Mac OS X 10.7.4 (virtual). Have tried all remedies on the Sync site, have tried resetting Sync at least five times, and am using randomly generated passwords from KeePass 2.19 (256-bit hex key), correctly copied and pasted.
Didn't this same issue occur for the upgrade from 13 to 14?
I have Firefox installed on two Linux boxes (Arch, Ubuntu) and a Windows one and after upgrading to FF 15, Sync broke and reports account credentials error.
Resolved the problem by re-installing FF 14.

Hmmm... Not obvious how to replace FF15 w/ FF14. I am using ubuntu 12.04??
Going from FF15 to FF14 quick how-to :
On Archlinux :
- Use package from pacman cache directory (defaults to /var/cache/pacman/pkg) or download firefox-14.0.1-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz from one of these locations : http://mirror.xnet.co.nz/pub/archlinux/extra/os/i686/firefox-14.0.1-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz http://ftp.cc.uoc.gr/mirrors/linux/manjaro/extra/i686/firefox-14.0.1-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz
- Then : sudo pacman -U firefox-14.0.1-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz
On Ubuntu :
- Use apt cache directory (defaults to /var/cache/apt/archives) or download respectively for 32-bit: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/112789227/firefox_14.0.1%2Bbuild1-0ubuntu0.11.10.3_i386.deb 64-bit: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/112789569/firefox_14.0.1%2Bbuild1-0ubuntu0.11.10.3_amd64.deb
- Then just : sudo dpkg -i yourFFpackage.deb
On MacOS :
- Get it from http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/14.0.1/mac/
On Windows :
- Just google it :P
It is NOT officially recommended to use outdated versions of Firefox, as they will be insecure. (Obviously many users will be able to make their own decisions on the risks and consequences, but others looking for quick fixes may read this thread later)
- Install an older version of Firefox Note that includes links to the ftp downloads of Mozilla builds of previous versions of Firefox.
On Windows : - Just google it :P
- How to install Firefox on Windows
- also on Windows as an additional version some may consider Firerfox Portable, as an easy install http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable (No need to manually set up multiple profiles)
Also note there is the option of using Mozilla builds on Linux
- Install Firefox on Linux (IIRC last time I tried it on 64 bit Linux Mozilla tried to install 32bit Firefox so I used a ftp download)
I do not have multiple machines available to test sync, but I would have expected to see reports if Firefox 15 was failing on all Linux installs. Are posts appearing on forums for particular Disto's
