Yesterday, was asked by Mozilla to update some addons which I OK'd. Now I can't even get by the Mozilla icon to open the browser. It simply flickers once then does nothing.

It has affected my TurboTax software that I now get an error message about "Assembly binding logging is turned off." Something tied to a registry value setting?

Need your help to resolve.

Hey emorris812,

Have you tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode? Hold down "shift" while Firefox is starting up. If the crash doesn't happen in Safe Mode, you should read Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems. I'm assuming this will be the fix since you said the issue happened after updating some add-ons.

There is also a lot of useful stuff in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) Knowledge Base article.

Hopefully this helps!

Firefox Add-ons do not/should not make changes to the Windows registry. Add-ons settings are stored in about:config preferences. However, third-party applications (for example, toolbars), make their own Windows registry settings as they are completely separate applications that add an extension to Firefox (usually from the Windows registry).

Use Firefox Safe Mode to find a problem with an Extension or Plugin:
