7.1 says it will disable my zone alarm engine. Not going to happen!!!!
Firefox urged me to update to 7.1 and then said that it was incompatible with part of my zone alarm fire wall. If I had to get rid of part of my firewall or use a different browser, I'd choose the monkey! Does this mean I have to stop using firefox since I can no longer upgrade it?

That is probably only an extension or toolbar that ZoneAlarm adds to Firefox and not the firewall because Firefox can't control that part of the Operating System. So you will still be protected by the firewall component.
Whew.... I had a problem once where an update of Norton AV messed up zone alarm. Norton smuggly suggested I get rid of zone alarm. I got rid of Norton instead!
I would be perfectly happy loosing the zone alarm toolbar as I don't use it anyway.
Thanks,
Phil
