Firefox revs greater than 3.x cannot display nav buttons at infoquest.webmail.com. Why?
Previously reported (rev 4.0.1) and replied that all suggested troubleshooting does not remedy the problem. It persists in all revs since 4.0x through the latest 6.x beta. IOW, no one appears to care to look at or fix the bad code in FF.
Once logged into my webmail account and looking at a message, the nav button images (Next, Previous, Reply, Reply All, Delete, Print-friendly version, etc.) do not display. Clicking on the button place holder leads to an HTP error 404 page.

The link you posted with your Question (http://ebmail.infoquest.com/express.asp) is showing Server Not Found Error
You missed the "w" part of "webmail".
Also, unless you have a web hosting account with Infoquest, you won't be able to log in and get to a message display where this problem occurs. And unfortunately, this site does not allow enough characters for me to include all the frame code, plus the frame's containing page code.
I also did not have enough "room" in the original post to report that each new rev of Firefox seems to introduce more problems with the proper operation or display of .asp pages that rely heavily on css and JavaScript. So I believe that is the area of Firefox that needs scrutiny.
Troubleshooting extensions and themes
Check and tell if its working.
Firefox 3.6.23 still works correctly with webmail.Infoquest.com, however neither 7.01 nor 8.01 work. I did some testing by complete uninstall before installing the new version (removed profiles as well). In the new > 7.x versions with the "web console" enabled, it appears that the email navigation button images within the message pane load once, then FF tries to load them again from some cache at the webmail.infoquest.com site that does not exist. For example, if I look at a button image location in 7.x, it will show;
https://webmail.infoquest.com/cache/443C36499EBAB141B9D53921F62B27E6/427671236/images/EN/prevmsg.gif
Viewing the same page in FF3.x, the same button image location shows as:
https://webmail.infoquest.com/images/EN/prevmsg.gif
When I compare the frame source as saved from viewing in FF 7.01 vs. FF 3.6.23,
the only difference is that the 3.x version show about a dozen blank line after things like a </table> or aThe other problem is that there is a "printer friendly version" link in the same frame that is
javascript:PrinterFriendly('Reject%20Mail%20Lists',%20450465312,%20)
where 'Reject%20Mail%20Lists' is the name of the folder in which the message is being viewed.
FF 3.x will open a new window with the message displayed as a simple html page with no frames, and no message navigation buttons (prev, next, delete, move to folder etc.) FF versions later than that will open a window to the standard http 404 (page not found) error page.
So there is also a problem with the way javascript is handled in versions after 3.x
Try increasing the Network Cache
-> Clear cookies and site data in Firefox
-> Also try the suggestions mentioned in the following articles:
Check and tell if its working.
I tried your suggestions and then some.
I start by completely uninstalling FF3.6.23, deleting any left-over directories in the user/app data sub-directories, and program files/ program files(x86) directories (Windows 7 pro 64 bit, HP z800 workstation). I install FF7.01 from scratch with totally "clean" profile, and start by deleting history, cookies etc. Same result every time no matter what I try.
I've further tried suggestions in many other articles from the FF support KB and the one at mozillazine.org regarding java / javascript, css sheet processing, images not loading properly, and toyed with the IPV6 config item etc. Nothing seems to work.
I have now saved complete web page of the errant webmail message from FF 3.x and FF 7.01. The basic page essentially refers to a framset with all those file stored in an appropriately named sub-dir. Oddly enough, FF7 saves a sub-dir which is twice the size of the one FF3 saves for the same page!
Within the page-named sub-dir of files, is a sub-dir called "imap4-data". FF3 stores the .gif images for the 8 message navigation / action buttons (next, prev, delete, reply etc.) FF7 stores 8 html pages with the same root names as the gif images in the FF3 version of this sub-dir. Everyone of these pages are an error 404 page.
So, FF7 clearly has an HTML parsing error where it after locating these images in the correct place, attempts to actually "paint" or store them from a different (non-existent) location.
Attached image shows web console from opening the message, and the missing buttons in the message from an FF7 session. I also have saved the page saves of the same page from both versions of FF. The more I consider the problem and look at the links listed for the button images when displayed in each version of FF (my most recent previous post) I think the problem arises from the way the post-FF3 version utilizes the
tag.
I also noticed that the "imap4.html" page which serves as the content of one of the frames in the frameset declared in the parent page, the FF7 saved version moves the line at after the initial page comment tags, and the above base ref tag is appended right after the subsequent meta name tag BEFORE the table that contains the buttons appears. The FF3 version of the same page has the tag as the first line of the file, above the comment lines, and the base ref appears AFTER the table that defines the button layout. Why FF7 re-orders the coding of the page when it saves it (and probably when it processes / parses the page) is beyond me, but is seems to be an error in the basic FF7 html processing engine. The files for these two page saves total about 40K and 71K - pretty small, and I have saved them so if there is anyone who wants to look at them, just tell me where to send them.
More data points:
If I view / save page /frame source of the offending webmail.infoquest.com/express message screen, From Chrome or IE, there are no "base href" tags. These seemed to be added by Firefox.
The difference between FF versions rendering the page correctly or not is the difference of where the the "base href" tags have been "inserted" into the page source. FF 3.6 and earlier seem to insert these tags BEFORE the table used to layout the message navigation / action buttons that are part of the "header" layout. FF 4 and later place the "base href" tags AFTER the button layout table.
Using FF 7, if I load the page from file created by saving the web page in FF 3.6 buttons appear correctly. If I load the page saved from FF 7, the do not.
Using FF 3.6, if I load the page from a file created by saving the web page in FF 7, buttons do not appear, and the page looks like the online version when accessed by FF 4 or later.
I believe this indicates that there is a bug in FF HTML parsing, and that FF reformats / rewrites the HTML code before rending or saving page source. And I believe that this bug is the real cause of many page display problems that seem unrelated.

Does it help if you disable the HTML5 parser in Firefox 7/8 by setting the pref html5.parser.enable to false?
Do you see that code if you inspect the page source by prefixing tho link with the view-source: protocol or inspect the code otherwise. If you save a page then you get a processed page.
- Firefox > Web Developer > Page Source
- Tools > Web Developer > Page Source (Ctrl+U)
- Right-click on a web page to open the right-click context menu and select Page Source
You can upload code to sites like this:
Partially.
Late last night I discovered the html5 items in the config file and started playing with them one at a time and in combination. The only one that had any effect was to set html5.parser.enable to false. That showed (and enabled) the nav / action buttons across the top of the email message between the header and email body (actually the frame used for the email header).
The same set of buttons, plus a "move to folder" button with folder selection drop-down at the bottom (footer frame for the email message) still do not appear and are non-functional.
If I understand the second part of your message, instead of "save page" I should use one of the developer tool inspectors or right-click "view source" options, then copy - paste to a clean file. Then I should be able to upload the files to one of your suggested sites without having to edit, add PRE tags, and replace all the < and > chars with their & codes.
THANK YOU so much for looking at this.
Sounds that there are error in that page if disabling HTML5 works.
Sometimes such errors show as red code in the page source, but errors can also be caused by missing closing tags.
I posted the offending frame's code to http://pastebin.mozilla.org/1382014 .
Attached are images of how the frame should look, and what it looks like in FF 8 without and with html5 parsing disabled. Also is an image of the same page from IE 8 which presents the page with the same way FF 3.6.x does.
BTW, the error consoles show the same errors in FF (all versions) and IE but only FF revs greater than 3.x have a problem displaying the page and executing functions for all buttons / links in the page.
