Why can't I add more than 8 personas to FireFox? I had three I liked - now all overwritten, as well as a dozen new ones I had added. Why wasn't I warned I couldn't have more than just 8?
I had 2 personas - then added another one. Then decided to add some more, did a couple of searches and so many terrific ones. After adding more than a dozen, I decided to uninstall a few that, by now, were not as enjoyable as ones I later found.
Boy, was I unpleasantly astonished to find all but the last 7 or 8 there. All the earlier ones had been overwritten, gone forever.
Why doesn't FireFox warn you that you can't install more than 8??
Is there any way I can change this setting and have more?
Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out.

In Firefox 3 that MAX_USED_THEMES_COUNT is set to 8. In Firefox 4 the maximum is increased to 30 with the possibility to set that maximum via a pref lightweightThemes.maxUsedThemes.
You can try to use the Personas Plus (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/10900) extension to manage more personas.
