On T'bird is there a simple way to set up a vacation responder?
The protocols for setting up an auto response I can find are complicated and user unfriendly. Isn't there a simple way to do this?

The short answer is NO!The long answer has been in the knowledge base for some years. I have not looked at the article in almost a decade (April 2014) so most of the links to providers will be dead. However the background is still valid and the last thing I would recommend it leaving Thunderbird running for a month while you were away.
