Saving all my emails before they are deleted off of the Gmail server
Hi I have my own domain name which is linked to a gmail account and then to Thunderbird(IMAP). I am in the process of changing hosting provider and have had no emails for 5 days. It appears that the only way to resolve this is for my web manager to create a new inbox but that would wipe all my emails off of the Gmail server (and there are many). I assumed I'd just copy all my Thunderbirdfolder and sub folder (and sub sub etc) to Local Folders so have tried to do that. It has worked to some extent but when I look at some of the sub folder, internally they are empty. It would take me weeks to manually check each one! Is tghere any other way of preserving my struicture and every email? Thanks Lynne

You might try clicking File>Offline and select an option to fully download all folders. Once done, exit Thunderbird and, in Windows File Explorer, copy the file (e.g., INBOX, INBOX.msf) to Local Folders. Restart Thunderbird and verify content.
Hello
Try to install the ImportExportTool NG add-on and use it to export your mails. Unfortunately the most reliable way (export remote folder) has to be done folder by folder.
Many thanks, I'm trying that now, although it appears mnow to be stuck on one message. Where will the download be stored?

when you select export of remote folder, the very first thing the add-on is doing is opening a dialog to select a directory where the exported file will be stored.
