Now that FF 86 has total cookie protection do I still need to run extensions that do the same thing. I have always run ublock origin. Also I see that DuckDuckGo has an extension that blocks trackers, wonder if I need that too or not.

When I load a web page I still see ublock blocking things and if I add the DDG extension its finding stuff too at the same time.

Thoughts?

Content blocking extensions get control first and thus they can block content that Firefox also can block, but if the extension blocks it then Firefox won't see this content. Content blocking extensions usually offer finer control and some allow to setup specific rules where for Firefox it is only all on or off.

It is up to you to decide what protection you choose, builtin Firefox or via extensions. Firefox has some basic content blocking features that do not break too many websites as with extensions it is not always obvious that they block content.
