Option or add-on to add a cover note to emails sent by Message Filter rules.
Hi,
there are a lot of "standard" emails I send. E.g. a dispatch note comes from a supplier and I forward it on to the warehouse with a cover note "Hi Bob, the attached items should be arriving with you today. If you have any questions just give me a shout!"
Using Message Filters, I can isolate and auto-forward the messages from the suppliers, however I cannot add any message text to the outgoing email. Is there any option, or add-on, that allows me to put some text into the email sent by the filter rule?
Many thanks!

I guess what you would want is a filter action 'Forward with Template', similar to Reply with Template, but I'm not aware of any way to do something like this automatically with a filter. Of course, if the supplier sent the message to the warehouse, with you as a CC, that would eliminate the need for such a filter.
It's just an example - there are many cases where (for various reasons) the email either cannot go directly from A to B or where I want it to come to me (for visibility). This kind of "forward with template" would be super-useful, especially when linked to filter rules.
Do you know if it's technically possible (but nobody has written an add-on for it yet), or if it's not even do-able for a skilled add-on creator?
It's probably possible to make some kind of 'Forward with Template' action, but unless the forwarding address was the same for all incoming messages, you would need a separate filter for each address. Unlike 'Reply with Template' which replies to the incoming sender. I think the limited demand for such a function would not make the effort to create it worthwhile.
A separate filter for each case is fine... we already do this with messages that don't need cover notes. It's just frustrating that we can't add messages to the ones that need them - so a person has to do what a robot would be perfectly suited to!
Thanks again for your replies.
