firefox task will not terminate
I hit youtube and FF locks up completely
I have to kill the task HOWEVER the last instance is not killable
TO FIX IT I HAVE TO REBOOT
EXAMPLE URL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEPTlhBmwRg
if i try to start FF again I get a message about it being unable to find my profile
AFTER THE REBOOT I HAVE TO CATCH ff WHEN IT STARTS OR IT LOADS THE PAGE AGAIN AND LOCKS UP IF I DON'T CATCH IT AGAIN I HAVE TO REBOOT AGAIN
this happens over and over at this point i have removed FF as my default browser since the only solution is to reboot the pc
I remember when FF worked

Create a batch file and put this inside;
Echo Off Echo. Echo TASKKILL /T /IM Firefox.exe Echo. TASKKILL /T /IM Firefox.exe
If the above does not work, create another batch file and use this;
Echo. Echo TASKKILL Forced Echo. TASKKILL /T /F /IM Firefox.exe
The first program sends a shutdown command to the program. The second sends a Forced Shutdown command
I had no problem using YouTube in general, or the link you provided. Let's try this:
Remove History For One Site
Open the History Manager <Control><Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right-click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any passwords / settings.
tried all of that before reporting it none of it worked
The only option is to reboot
its not always the same video
What about other websites? Any problems? Have you tried Firefox Safe Mode? Computer Safe Mode?

Sometimes people can have issues with YT videos using VP9 codec that can peg older slower hardware. That example video uses VP9 as you can see in stats for nerds in right-click.
This h264ify Extension for Fx may help. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/h264ify/
Only happens with latest FF Does not happen on chrome or chromium browsers
I found the same issue reported in 2013
Nothing helps Always have to reboot when it occurs

So in this vague reply you are saying you have tried the Extension I suggested above and it did not help?
Its not older slower hardware its a brand new laptop
This only happens with Firefox so I just stopped using most of the time. I only use it for forums like this.
