I'm absolutely excited about the container feature. Now I'm trying to assign specific websites (e.g. google) to containers. I found quite some posts about that but in all of them a specific button on the toolbar is mentioned which does not exist in my case. Also in the context menu I don't find an entry like "Always open in this container".

I'm running Firefox 60.0.2 (64-bit) on macOS 10.13.

Ok I found out that I have to install the "Firefox Multi-Account Containers" to get the button I wanted. I thought this is part of the core functionality of Firefox. Thanks anyway for your help.

Hi, if button not there then can not do it at this time. But you can put it in yourself by about:config or wait to see if it turns up as part of the update to version 61 tomorrow. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/containers

There tons made already as extensions : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/google-container/ But there are a bunch of them here, facebook somewhere : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/search/?platform=windows&q=containers

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Can you name the option in about:config that enables the button? I didn't find it.

Copy/Paste about:preferences#containers to the Address Bar and Enter

Bottom of the URL in dark colour : For advanced users https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/containers Copy/Paste about:config to the Address Bar and Enter then paste into Search at top of open window Copy/Paste 1 at a time and change by double click to true, last one will right click : privacy.userContext.enabled set to true privacy.userContext.ui.enabled to true privacy.userContext.longPressBehavior to 2

Upgrade to 61.0.1 required reinstallation of Multi Account Containers. Fine. But where did the Switch Containers icon and function go ? I miss that terribly.

Received "Switch Containers" download link via email. Back to easy surfing ! Thanks !

Do you still have the extension installed and enabled?
