I can't preview an e-mail by single clicking I know have to double click to open it. I want to review my messages
Hi. I used to be able to preview an e-mail in my list of incoming e-mail with a single click on the subject. Now it won't work and I have to double clink and open the message. How do I just review the message?

Press F8 to open the Message Pane.
It is not a preview. It actually opens the message, just in this pane instead of a tab or window.

Much thanks!!!
Until this afternoon, that "preview pane" was a Column in the email window. I didn't have to Press F8 for it to appear. And it did not open at the bottom of the page. It was a column, just like Correspondents, Subject, Date, etc.
Where did it go? Pressing F8 to preview my high volume of emails one-at-a-time would be painfully time consuming. But Preview is not an option in the Columns list. Is it called somethin else?
Thanks, Gracie
I'M BACK...I semi-fixed it. VIEW / LAYOUT / VERTICAL VIEW / MESSAGE PANE
It is not what I had before, but I'll use it until someone can tell me how to get back to the one-line message column/pane that I had this morning. THANKS.

You press F8 to turn it on and you press F8 to turn it off. If you want it on leave of that way. There are 3 different views where the preview pane can be placed. Surprisingly you set that in the View menu. Press the alt key to make the Menu Bar appear. From the menu bar select View-Layout and take your choice of one of the three layouts.
And it has never been a column like from or correspondents.
