Why is it that embedded, clickable graphics do not appear in most of my received emails in all of my email accounts?
Regardless of which email account I use, in the emails that I receive which have embedded, active, clickable graphics that are links, the graphics do not appear, and I have no link to click on. Sometimes there is a link in small print at the top of the email which indicates if I cannot see or if I am having trouble seeing what is in the email, I can click on that link to view it as a web page. Unfortunately, many times there is not this option and all I have is a blank space. It's not like the emails are spam or anything, they are emails from people and organizations and vendors who are in my address book. What's going on?

Is the problem only in emails?
Can you rule a content blocker as a factor? These would include:
(1) Built-in Tracking Protection feature (especially in private windows).
Do you see a shield icon toward the left end of the toolbar when this problem hits? More info on how to use the shield to manage blocking: What happened to Tracking Protection?.
(2) Content blocking extensions such as Adblock Plus, Blur, Disconnect, Ghostery, NoScript, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin or uMatrix.
These typically provide toolbar buttons to manage blocked content in a page.

You can check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for messages about blocked content and about the presence of mixed or unsafe content.
You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load.
If necessary use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" (Mac: Command+Shift+R) to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.
