My posts to a mail-serv list I belong to are not appearing in my inbox. This is a recent change. How do I go about fixing this?

I subscribe to several lists at databaseadvisors.com . When I reply to a post, historically my post showed up on the appropriate thread in my inbox. Recently, I noted that my posts were not appearing. I asked the tech support person about it and he said no changes had been made on those lists that would account for my experience. My postings are still present in my Sent folder, but, they are not coming into my Inbox. I would like to fix this. Can you help? Thank you.

re: 'When I reply to a post'

I'm presuming the received email was sent 'To' a mailing list email address and you are on that list hence the email.

When you want to 'reply', which button do you use? 'Reply' or 'Reply-List' or 'Reply-All'

After clicking on one of those buttons, which email address is now shown in the 'To' field, is it the same mailing list email address or is it email address of the received 'From' field?

Thank you, Toad_Hall, for responding.

It turns out that you are definitely onto something, here. Historically, the appropriate button to click has been 'Reply' since the email is from the particular discussion thread. Since you raised the question, I went to look again at the address configurations. They now show the message as coming from the individual on the list rather than from the list.

I have just experimented with the choice of 'Reply' and 'Reply-list.' That does make a difference. This may solve the issue, so I'm going to go complete a few 'Reply-list' transactions and see what happens.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

Hello again, Toad-Hall,

You pegged it.

The list messages used to come through with 'Reply To' set for the list address, so clicking 'Reply' was the right way to respond to the list.

The messages now come through without 'Reply To' set to anything, so clicking 'Reply' responds directly to the individual whose posting I was replying to. Clicking 'Reply List' responds to the list.

What I don't know is how and why the configuration changed. I don't know whether the messages are being sent out differently now, or whether there has been a change in Thunderbird, or where else in the transmission chain of custody the change may have occurred.

Again, thank you.
