what are the advantages and disadvantages of checking the 'Always use private browsing mode' box?
Hi,
i know the basic meaning of this option, but can you tell me what are all the advantages and disadvantages of checking the 'Always use private browsing mode' box? I have been unable to decide which way would be better.
Thanks for your help!

Have you read this support article? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/private-browsing-use-firefox-without-history
This feature in Private Browsing can create problems for users, and may require a bit of attention from the user to prevent problems using some websites. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tracking-protection-pbm
Thanks! yes i had read those articles, and now just reread them. So it seems to indicate that a disadvantage would be that you can never go back to review what pages you were on...
... you can never go back to review what pages you were on...
In the same session - yes. But history is held in RAM and when Firefox is closed the session is cleared; not saved to disk as with "normal" mode.

what do you mean by "but"? please clarify?
Also, are you simply indicating the session as opposed to other sessions i've had recently? (as they may have been opened in normal not private mode)
Private Browsing history isn't written to disk as in the normal browsing mode, so history is temporarily held in RAM for only as long as the Private Browsing window is open. Close the window and the RAM is cleared - history is gone.
