I cannot close show all history page. I used to be able to before upgrading to el capitan. Now there is no close button on the history page. It does not go away until I close FF.

Feel free to undo the change you made. You might need to quit Firefox first to release files in use.

By the way, you should be able to close the Library dialog using Cmd+w (close tab) or Cmd+Shift+w (close window). Does either of those work for you?

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

Found a file that started with XUL but it wasn't what you listed. I think I made it worse by renaming it. I lose everything but the history page.

I logged in to my old Mac to get the name of the file back (duh) and returned it to the old name because I felt like a twit, all this before I got your email.

Then when I tried the command + w, wow, it worked. Yes!!!! Such a simple solution. Thank you so much. It is wonderful that there are people out there like you to help the lesser beings amongst us!
